Trimming shears are the most commonly and widely used tool for all Bonsai works and quality shears are always required in all cases. Bonsai shears make clean close cuts and are preferred by most serious Bonsai enthusiasts.

Ashinaga Basami Bonsai Shears:

The Ashinaga Basami shear is a basic tool for thinning and defoliating bonsai. This and the Ashinaga shear and the Concave Branch Cutter are generally considered to be the two most basic Bonsai tools.

Satsuki Hasami Shears / Intermediate Grade

This grade is a less expensive Satsuki shear for the serious student. The nice finish and laminated construction of its' blades are a good balance between cost and quality for intermediate-level enthusiasts.

Kiri Hasami Bonsai Shears

The Koeda Kiri shears are similar to the Satsuki, but with a narrower body and a little more length. Excellent for trimming inside dense foliage. Available in both our Intemediate and Novice lines.
